Mavericks Wellness created THE WAVE GUA SHA to support your facial lymphatic practice at home. Inspired by the movement and rhythm of the ocean, each gua sha is hand-carved from natural White Jade, then carefully sanded and polished by skilled artisans. Its custom wave-shaped design glides effortlessly along the natural contours of the face and neck. Each gua sha includes a custom, locally made 100% wool felt pouch to help protect your tool at home and while traveling.Â
WHAT IS GUA SHA?
Gua sha (pronounced "gwah-shah") is an ancient healing technique rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). For centuries, it has been used to support overall wellness by promoting circulation, encouraging lymphatic flow, and maintaining the flow of Qi (energy). Today, it has evolved into an essential part of many modern skincare routines. Using smooth, intentional strokes, gua sha tools glide across the skin to help stimulate healthy lymphatic flow and reduce the appearance of facial puffiness. Gua sha can also help release facial and jaw tension, support healthy circulation, sculpt and define facial contours, and promote relaxation.

HOW TO USE YOUR GUA SHA
*BEFORE YOU BEGIN*
*Start with clean skin.
*Apply a facial oil or serum to allow the gua sha to glide smoothly.
*Hold THE WAVE at a 15–45° angle against the skin and use light, gentle pressure.
-       Repeat each movement 3–5 times.
1. Prepare the Lymphatic Pathways
Begin by gently sweeping down the sides of the neck toward the collarbone. This helps prepare the lymphatic pathways before moving fluid from the face.
2. Jawline
Starting at the center of the chin, glide along the jawline toward the ear. After each stroke, continue down the side of the neck to the collarbone.
3. Cheeks
Starting beside the nose, glide outward towards the ears going under the cheek bone to help define facial contours and lift the cheeks. Follow each stroke by sweeping down the neck to the collarbone.
4. Under the Eyes
Using the lightest pressure, glide from the inner corner of the under-eye area outward toward the temples. Continue down the side of the neck to the collarbone.
5. Forehead
Starting in the center of the forehead, glide outward toward the temples. Then make upward strokes from the eyebrows toward the hairline to help release tension.
6. Finish
Complete your routine by making 3–5 gentle downward strokes down the neck to the collarbone.
