The iris hantverk dry body brush is sourced from Sweden and are made by hand. The dry body brush handle is made of oak, while the bristles are horse hair and tampico fibre for a little extra power. Horse hair is an excellent material in brushes because it is soft and pliable while it is sturdy and durable and has a certain elasticity.
DRY BRUSHING: Dry brushing is an ancient Ayurvedic practice of gently brushing the body with a dry brush to stimulate the lymphatic system. It is one of the simplest and most effective practices for the health of the skin and body, providing support for proper function of the lymphatic system when done consistently over time. While dry brushing can assist in lymphatic flow and promote healthy lymphatic circulation, other benefits include: allowing for a more efficient immune system, stimulating blood flow by increasing circulation, exfoliating and improving the appearance of the skin, helping to remove stagnation, aiding in digestion, and increasing energy. Dry brushing is a wonderful practice to complement Ballancer®Pro treatments, using this method on days without compression therapy.
HOW-TO DRY-BRUSH:
1. Start by lightly massaging your right and left supraclavicular nodes, located just above your collarbone, in a motion out toward your shoulders
2. Stimulate the axillary lymph nodes located in your armpits, by placing your hand in your armpit, pulsing upwards
3. Stimulate the inguinal lymph nodes located at the top of your thigh, massaging c-strokes upward
4. Stimulate the popliteal lymph nodes, located behind the knee, pulsing upwards
5. With your dry brush, starting at your feet and moving upwards, brush with long gentle strokes, towards your inguinal lymph nodes
6. Moving to your abdomen, dry brush in a clockwise circle (this is the direction your colon runs and will help stimulate your digestion), then brush your abdomen in strokes from the navel down and navel up
7. Moving to your chest, brush towards your axillary nodes
8. Moving to your arms, starting at your hands, brush with long gentle strokes towards your axillary lymph nodes
9. Finishing at your supraclavicular nodes brushing out towards your shoulders
